Students all over Pakistan are weak in Science & Maths. In NA-250 we have done a lot of science fairs just to create more interest as the future of our nation depends on these young brilliant minds to lead the way forward

A visit was made and subsequent meeting held at Jamshed Ahmed Khan School, Hijrat Colony on Tuesday, January 25, 2017. The NA-250 Education Committee Members headed by Mrs. Samina Alvi, Saleem Kazi, Zahid Asghar, Sana Zubairi visited the school along with Vice Chairman DMC South Mansoor Sheikh, Councillors Anand Sawlani, Awais Toor and myself. NA-250 Education Committee headed by Mrs. Samina Alvi along with DMC South Councillors Anand Sawlani and Sairah Khalid and respective local leadership visited schools in Qayyumabad and City Railway Colony on Monday, January 16, 2017.
Government Boys/Girls Primary School City Railway Colony has been host to the pilot programme for an ICT Tablet-based system of education. Approximately twenty young minds whom have yet to experience traditional classroom education are recipients of this programme that offers learning at the touch of an electronic tablet. The programme has been running for the last eight months and is expected to continue. The teachers as well as the students are impressed with the progress and learning through this method. The students' parents are also thrilled at the fast paced learning and interactive experience their children are exposed to.
A meeting was held with the Reform Support Unit (RSU) of Sindh Government, at their office as a first step towards fulfilling the commitment between PTI NA250 and Sindh Education Department, as was decided in the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between Dr Arif Alvi (NA250) and Dr Fazal Pechuho, Secretary Ministry of Education, Sindh.Read more
PTI MNA and MPAs of NA-250 have been very concerned about education in government schools in our constituency. Thanks to cooperation from philanthropists and our own funds we have done a splendid job with Railway School Kalapul and other smaller government schools. In February Dr Arif Alvi signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sindh Government to be able to look after the education issues in his constituency.Read more
On Sunday 27th March - the PTI NA250 team invited all donors and supporters to an event at the Railway School, Kalapul to show the work that has been done - raising over 1 crore and 75 Lacs in this last year - the team has completed the entire ground floor and part of the first floor, they remain short of raising another 40 lacs for final completion.
In this last year - PTI NA250 team successfully signed an MOU between Pakistan Railways, The Citizens Foundation & the ICWS (Insaf Community Welfare Society) - The ownership of the school remains entirely of the Pakistan Railway, the TCF comes in as the education partner, while the financial support comes in from the public service NGO ICWS.
Following is the NA-250 Education Committee 2016 Progress report of the work being done across various schools in the area - this projects are self funded, donations gathered from kind well wishers and work completed on various schools around the area - absolutely no funding is utilized from the govt and neither is the govt supporting these schools which are in total dilapidated condition

A Science Fair was held on 29th May at the Railway School by in coordination between MP's of the area - Dr Arif Alvi, Samar Khan, Khurrum Sher Zaman, Dr Seema Zia and Alif Ailaan.

Mr Zahoor Ahmed ex-GM of Pakistan Railways (1994) has donated Rs 600,000 to sponsor one class room in the Railway School in the name of his wife Mrs Sufia Zahoor Ahmed. I (Dr Arif Alvi) sent a thank you note to them, to which their son Mr Faisal Ahmed replied, and mentioned the family's passionate commitment to education.
